This will unlock the ship for all characters on your account. Repeat once a day for 25 days to get 1000 Tokens, then dump the tokens into the requisition project available in the Events Reputation. Win the race by beating the NPC to the finish line without sliding off the track (that's the trick - going out of bounds disqualifies you, forcing you to restart the mission, but you have infinite tries), and you will get 40 Winter Event Tokens. Every few seconds, he will allow a player onto the track to race against an NPC. Then go down the steps to the north, continue in that direction for about 40 meters until you get to the race official. Then find the Race Coordinator in his pavilion (not far from where you spawn). Talk to Q at your faction hub (ESD or First City) and have him take you to his Winter Wonderland.

Durability is still an issue, but I’m in the process of planning my respecced skills and planning to get the free T6 ship this month in the hopes of improvement. How should I deck out my ship? Is one weapon type more effective than another?
It’s gotten to the point that I’ll often have to chip down enemy ships 10-15% at a time between respawns. I’m getting to the point though that the ship I received at level 40 (maybe 50? The last free one) is just no longer cutting it in PVE story missions, as sad as that is. I’ve just finished grinding out a level 60 Klingon tactical officer, and I’ve been using Birds of Prey exclusively because, well, aesthetic. I’ve been away from STO for a looong time (like, 2011), and I’m looking to get back into it.
